Check List for Swimming
To make your swim more enjoyable, you should consider having the
following things available at each swim session:
- bathing suit - a polyester suit lasts longest
- goggles - check for fit before you purchase them
- water bottle - hydration is important - even if you're in the
water!
- towel - for drying off after the swim
- shampoo, cream rinse, soap, etc. for showering off after the
swim
Some "nice to have" things include:
- vaseline - if you find your bathing suit is chafing, consider
putting a little vaseline on the affected area before your swim
- flippers - not the long ones for SCUBA diving, but shorter ones
(or you can cut the longer ones); many pools may have some that you
could borrow - check with the lifeguard
- pull-buoys - these foamy items provide support for your legs so
you can concentrate on your arm stroke; again, many pools have some
that you can borrow
